Sally McNeil was a gifted athlete, taking part in diving and cross-country running. After dropping out of college, she followed in the footsteps of her brother and uncle by joining the Marine Corps and serving at Camp Pendleton in the U. S. Marine Corps.

In 1990, Sally McNeil was demoted from her position as a sergeant, and eventually, she was discharged from the military for a constant poor behavioral record. Then she began to pursue her wrestling career, where she adopted the name, Killer Sally.

She began a career in muscle worship, where men would pay to wrestle with her and another female wrestler; she made good money through wrestling videos and muscle worship.

In the 1980s, Sally McNeil met a fellow bodybuilder, Ray McNeil, at a gym, in which they eventually got married in 1987. The marriage was toxic, as Ray MacNeil was abusive; the couple didn’t have any children together.

On Valentine’s Day, in 1995, in response to Ray MacNeil’s violence, Sally MacNeil shot him once in the face and once in the stomach in self-defense. The unfortunate incident happened when her kids, John and Shantina, were home.

After shooting Ray, Sally called 911 and was arrested by the police. However, Sally could not prove her self-defense claim, as the prosecutors claimed she had tried to reload the gun. Thus, in 1996, she was convicted of second-degree murder and was sentenced to 19 years imprisonment.

During her prison term, Sally McNeil’s two kids were raised by their grandmother, and as allowed to see her once a year, she was pardoned and released on parole in November 2020. After her release, Sally McNeil married Norfleet Stewart, whom she met through her Veterans Transition Center support group. She currently resides in Northern California.
